The 44th Orient and Southern East Asia Lions Forum

The 44th OSEAL Forum that had been held in October 7-10th with the theme of "Progress" that sent true Lionism from Asia to all over the world was able to be finished safely, thanks to the powerful support cooperation of the Miyagi Prefecture governor, Hon. Asano, the great help of the mayor of Sendai, Hon. Umehara, and lofty guidance of an International President.
I would like to express to International officers and all people whom concerned my deepest gratitude for participating at Forum.
Our Lions Club is the world's largest social confraternity that has nearly 1.40 million members in 193 countries and geographic areas.

This Sendai Forum, one of the areas in 7 Lions Clubs world territory, got the registration of each of about 13,000 representatives from 17 Orient and southeastern Asia countries or geographic area. I would like to pay my regards anew to the embodiment of a vigorous sense of everybody’s participation.

Everything was done well--- International cultural show including local performing art-- A grand and a grave ceremony-- Activity to Thailand, Malaysia, and the United States that received disaster-- Opening ceremony with “Suzume-Odori” sparrow dance-- Happy each country’s reception with rich international flavor-- Open symposium of citizen's participation to pledge peace, disaster support, and cooperation each other-- Ladies' program as official function-- LCIF(CSFⅡ) seminar-- MERL seminar-- Open Seminar of Lions Quest that thinks about the youth health promotion education-- IT Forum learnt and thought together-- Mini Forum in which it thinks about tomorrow's Lions. Lion Members participated in "Michinoku Yosakoi Festival" sponsoring by Sendai City, which was held in the downtown flashing hundreds of welcome banners. And members PR the Lions activity in the public square, also did the disaster support street paraded with international student. It was the event of a crowded participation type, which exactly reeled oneself and the local populace.

The result of the event for these four days strongly believes me to be able to answer for big expectations of everybody who hopes, "Something changes" and participated with the current forum.

I wish sincerely to express my gratitude to the host each clubs, members who endeavored for the project, the preparation, and construction over the whole of Forum, and all of everybody with whom it related.
